Not all heroes wear capes, but on Friday, April 26, the UPMC Pinnacle Foundation and UPMC in Central Pa. will come together to celebrate UPMC Children's during Superhero Day!

Our way of recognizing the world-class facility at UPMC Children's, Superhero Day gives staff and patients throughout UPMC in Central Pa. the opportunity to purchase a Superhero Day shirt to support patients in need. From our strong patients facing illnesses and injuries, and passionate parent advocates, to our compassionate staff and world-class innovators, we are excited to honor all our superheroes.

Whether you choose to purchase a shirt for yourself or a colleague or make a donation of any amount, your contribution to Superhero Day supports pediatric patient care, providing invaluable resources to UPMC in Central Pa. pediatric patients in need who require special care, treatments, therapeutic equipment, transportation, and medical bills.

UPMC in Central Pa. employees can purchase their own Superhero shirts for themselves and their family members at $25 each! All employees throughout UPMC in Central Pa. who purchase a Superhero shirt can wear them proudly on April 26 – Superhero Day. **Shirt sales end on 3/10/2024.

By purchasing a shirt, available in adult and youth sizes, your contribution to Superhero Day supports pediatric patient care, providing invaluable resources to UPMC in Central Pa. pediatric patients in need who require special care, treatments, therapeutic equipment, transportation, and medical bills.

Not feeling your inner superhero? That’s ok, you can instead choose to donate any amount to Superhero Day and still be a lifeline for pediatric patients in need. Click the link above and select the Brooks/Schiffman Pediatric Fund in the drop-down menu.

When you place your order, your shirt will be shipped directly to you before April 26!

What Will Happen During Superhero Day On April 26?

On Friday, April 26, we’ll celebrate Superhero Day 2024 by wearing our shirts and capes to work in recognition of all the incredible UPMC Children’s superheroes!

At 1:30 p.m., we’re asking those who are able, no matter where you are throughout UPMC in Central Pa., to gather for a group photo in your capes. We’ll also spend the day at UPMC Harrisburg celebrating our superhero patients with very special window washers, and a guest appearance by Will M. Sport from UPMC Williamsport and the UPMC Health Plan.

**REMINDER: Employees may wear capes and shirts when possible, within their job role's dress code. Remember to maintain infection control and patient safety; adhere to department-specific guidelines; maintain a clean and neat professional appearance; and observe any other dress code policy provisions. Your department director has the final authority regarding dress in your department. And, as always, wear your UPMC ID badge properly.
