The Cindi Troxell Memorial Award, sponsored by the Hanover Hospital Auxiliary, honors the memory of Cindi Troxell, former Board Member, who dedicated her life to education. The award provides up to $500 to UPMC Hanover Hospital employees pursuing further education in healthcare-related fields. It is to be used for books, lab fees, uniforms, school fees, or other associated costs. The amount awarded is dependent upon information provided on the application, supporting documents, and the student’s financial needs. Applications open March 1, 2026. SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY REQUREMENTS:

Applicants are expected to remain employed within the system for the duration of the academic year for which the award is granted. Recipients who leave before that year are expected to repay the amount of the award granted with no interest penalty.
A minimum of 3.0 GPA in the major must be maintained.
An employee on Corrective Action during the review phase will not be considered for a Cindi Troxell Memorial Award.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

The application will only be considered if all the following documents are received by April 30, 2026.

Full completed application
Acceptance letter or most recent transcript from your educational institution
Letter of recommendation from current UPMC Hanover supervisor
Personal statement of 500 words or less

I understand that this application and attachments will be used solely for consideration for the Cindi Troxell Memorial Award. It is to be used only for expenses associated with furthering education e.g., books, lab fees, uniforms, school fees, or other associated costs. I also acknowledge that the following is required if selected: I am expected to continue employment for one year at UPMC Hanover from the date of completion of the course. I am required to provide the Auxiliary with an itemized list of how the award was utilized (per IRS requirements) within three months. I understand that the Award will not exceed $500 and does not need be filed with income tax. I give my permission for a public announcement to be made.
