Membership

Members of the Hanover Hospital Auxiliary are characterized by a vision that has been in place since the first meeting in October 1925, which is to promote and advance the welfare of UPMC Hanover, its patients, and community. To do so, the Auxiliary has:

· Provided a yearly donation to the Special Needs Fund, which assists with medical costs for less fortunate families who have little or no insurance coverage.

· Purchased two courtesy vans for area residents who need assistance with transportation related to their medical appointments.

· Awarded grants to employees for continuing education to ensure ongoing quality medical care.

· Raised over $2 million through various fundraisers to support the purchase of state-of-the-art hospital equipment in order to maintain the highest quality diagnostic and patient care.

· Opened the Hospitality Shop, an onsite boutique, to serve the need for gifts, flowers, accessories, and clothing. 

· An active membership is essential to continue the work of the Auxiliary. Members serve on project committees, work in the Hospitality Shop, or provide financial support for specific areas.

Additionally, all active hospital volunteers who work in various departments are automatically Auxiliary members. If you are not currently a member or are a hospital volunteer and would like to become more involved with the Auxiliary, look at the opportunities section to see which area appeals to you.
